Rhythmic Movement Training

Rhythmic Movement Training is a healing modality based on replicating the developmental movements an infant naturally makes, in order to stimulate the brain to build better foundations and connections.

For the baby's brain to grow and develop, it needs stimulation from all of the senses which it would normally get from being rocked and touched & soothed. Milestones such as rocking on hands & knees, & crawling are all developmental milestones that are crucial for healthy brain development. The stimulation that the infant's brain receives from these rhythmic baby movements during its first year of life are crucial for development and maturing of the brain.

When children have not had sufficient brain stimulation of this kind, the maturing of the brain is delayed or impaired which can manifest as ADD or ADHD, ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder), poor balance, lack of coordination, poor memory & concentration, difficulty with emotional regulation, learning difficulties, OCD, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and chronic fatigue.

Rhythmic Movement Training sessions can be conducted on their own, or as part of a holistic consultation. Parents will be provided with a programme of movements to practise at home with their child. Short, regular home sessions are important for ongoing brain development.
